The”Bałtyk” Confectionery Factory [“Zakłady Przemysłu Cukierniczego Bałtyk”] is the largest chocolate factory in Pomerania, with a history dating back to 1923. Chocolates, sweets, pralines, lollipops, boxes of chocolates, candy(dragées) and coated nuts are made in the two Polish manufacturing plants of “Bałtyk” located in Gdańsk and Włocławek.   “Bałtyk” manufactures sweets not only according to the traditional, long-standing recipes, but also surprises with innovative ideas for completely new sweet products.

The history of “Bałtyk” is closely connected with Gdańsk. The origins of the company go back to the days of the Free City of Gdańsk, and later of the tragic events of war and the German occupation. In 1951, the pre-war factories of Anglas, Kosma and Baltic were merged to establish the “Bałtyk”

Confectionery Factory [Zakłady Przemysłu Cukierniczego „Bałtyk”]. It has become one of the best-known companies in Pomorze. „Bałtyk” is famous for the manufacturing of chocolates, including those with adult flavours such as “whisky and coffee” or amaretto, but it also produces flavours loved by the younger generation, such as strawberry chocolate, toffee, pralines with a yogurt and-fruit filling and many others. One of the iconic products are likworki – candy with a liquid liquor filling. This product’s  long-standing tradition and manufacturing technology, “Bałtyk” has continued for several decades. Our company is also famous for its chocolate souvenirs, with references to both Gdansk and the entire region. Among them are pralines with wrappings that refer to the works by the Gdańsk painter Magda Beneda, entitled  “Popatrz na Gdańsk”[Look at  Gdańsk] and “Zachwyć się Trójmiastem”[Marvel at the TriCity], as well as coffee-flavoured chocolates, which remind us that over the past centuries, it was Gdańsk that made coffee drinking fashionable in Poland. The wide product assortment of “Bałtyk” also includes unique “Orzechy Bałtyckie”[Bałtyckie Nuts] with a “colonial” label referring to the tradition of maritime trade conducted through the port of Gdańsk.
